Twenty-Six

During my two-week hiatus from writing here on the blog, I turned 26.

I had a hard time turning 25 but thankfully turning 26 wasn’t toooo difficult for me. I only cried once when I started thinking about getting older and all the baby stuff. Ya know how it goes. Or maybe you don’t. I don’t know.

Honestly, I feel like 26 is going to be a great year for me. It’s going to be a turning point in my life – a good one. And I’m not talking about the baby stuff, although of course I’m still believing for that. What I’m talking about is my purpose – I’m in a new season with many opportunities in front of me. I’m meeting new people, stretching my talents, setting new goals, and casting fresh vision. I keep telling Aaron that I feel like I’m on the brink of something great.

That’s a great feeling. I can’t wait to see it unfold.

Here’s a few details from my birthday via Instagram…

-Aaron bought me the Nikon lens mug!
-My birthday fell on a Sunday so we went to church and then had lunch at one of my favorites – Torchy’s Tacos.

-Since my birthday is on Mexican Independence Day, I thought I’d share the celebration.
-We left the garage door open for the little party we had so I put up a warning sign for creepers.

-We put out crayons and paper for all the kids to draw.
-We did the same thing with sidewalk chalk and I think that was the most genius thing ever. I’ll go ahead and pat myself on the back for that one. The kids LOVED it!

-I cleaned out the garage and used the ping pong table as a dinner table. I also strung up string lights for ambiance. It’s all about the ambiance, people.
-Once a year I like to force people to say nice things about me.

I can’t believe I didn’t take any pictures with my DSLR to capture the day. I guess it just gets to the point where you need to set the camera down and be in the moment. So besides the few phone photos, I was enjoying every little birthday moment.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention?…My iphone 5 came last week! I’ve been geeking out over this moment for an entire YEAR! And it’s every bit of awesome I thought it would be.
